Here are the worst-rated nursing homes in the Kansas City area from federal scorecard
For seniors and their loved ones, choosing a nursing home in the Kansas City area can be a big — and pricey — decision. To help guide that decision, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services grades facilities using nursing home data including staffing levels, last two state health inspections and three years of complaints. There are a total of 97 nursing facilities within 25 miles of downtown Kansas City, according to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. But more than a third of those nursing homes received the lowest possible grade of one star from the federal department.
