Aurora Health and Rehab: Review Photos You Can’t Miss

If you have family in the Aurora Health and Rehab in Rolla, you better just check on them. My great Aunt Alta was in here and I went to visit her. As soon as I walked in, I noticied a cup full of pills next to her bed with her water. The cup clearly had the name DIANE on it. I took some pics, pushed the call light because I wanted answers, and proceeded to look up each and every pill. No one ever came after I pushed the button. I walked into the hall and pretty much every call light was on in her hallway and not one patient being helped. Yes, I stood out there a few minutes watching. So, I went back to my aunt and waited. Finally her dinner came and I asked the lady who Diane was. She kinda looked at me puzzled, so I asked again. She told me, “there was a Diane in this room before your aunt was” and I said, “oh so you are saying these pills belong to some lady who doesnt even reside in thos building anymore?” And she swiped them so quickly out of my hand and said “those should not have been left in here” and I said, “yeah I know they shouldn’t be.” Then she left with them. I could hear her outside talking with others about it. With me working in Healthcare I know that is pretty much against the law for a patient to be given the wrong meds much less a med tech not make sure a patient actually takes their meds. You cant just drop them off and leave. There are procedures. Clearly she wasnt identified or taken care of. As we were leaving I wanted to speak to someone but nobody was even at the front. Stood up there for awhile. I had to follow someone out who put a code in the door. I then called and asked to speak to the manager. She told me she had meant to come talk to me (yeah right) and they were going to speak to whomever did it. I also decided to turn them in to the state. I got this lovely letter from them. For them to think 2 seconds that I believe any of this is bull. I will be calling you Nurse Sapp. Be ready. Also, my Aunt has been moved to a different facility. My family wasnt going to let her live in that nasty, dirty, non compliant place that doesnt take care of their residents. Just so you know, they were giving my 90 year old aunt narcotics, benzos, sleeping meds, and strong anti depressants to name a few that were NOT hers. I will keep advocating for these residents, no matter how many calls I have to make. Here are some pics to show the conditions that Nurse Sapp believes are “acceptable”. Believe me.
